Police arrests one for assaulting EC employee

Police arrested one person today in connection with the assault of a government employee sent on Election Commission's work.

The man was arrested from Shibpur area of Howrah district but the police did not divulge his political identity.

The government employee was assaulted when he along with others was sent by the EC tried to remove poll banners and posters of the ruling Trinamool Congress in Shibpur recently.

A case had been lodged by the police against a mob.
