Police combing operations kick up a row in Mumbra

A police combing operation in Mumbra in the wee hours of Thursday, based on a tip-off, kicked up a row, after 100 people were detained and then released.

Irate citizens gave a call to shut down Mumbra today to condemn police highhandedness and demanded the suspension of Assistant Commissioner of Police Amit Kale.

However, the shut down call was withdrawn after the police chief assured a probe into allegations.
