Police today launched a drive against stunt bikers in Bhaderwah town of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district today, fining 34 of them and seizing 16 motorcycles.

Brijesh Sharma, the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Bhaderwah, said the drive was launched after a group of unruly bikers were reported performing stunts near the Girls Higher Secondary School every morning and evening, despite police deployment in the area.

"Involvement of two wheeler riders is often found in cases of harassing girls and other pedestrians and driving without helmet on the busy roads. We noticed that such cases usually peak at school hours when the roads are crowded. As a result, we decided to step up our drives against these unruly stunt bikers," the officer said.
