A police inspector was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a speeding truck, police said here today.
Manoj Kumar Shukla (38), a resident of Allahabad, was posted at the SSP Office here. Last night, he was returning from Panki when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck.
Other commuters on the road spotted a grievously injured Shukla and informed the police.
The police rushed him to the Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Panki SHO Dharmendra Singh said the victim was identified on the basis of his identity card.
A hunt is on to nab the driver of the truck, he added.
