Police officer fatally hit by train in AP

A Police Sub-Inspector died after being hit by a train while crossing rail tracks near here, an official said today.

The deceased, Chinni Krishna Rao, a native of village Seethanagaram, was attached to Special Branch (Operations) in Vizianagaram district.

The 43-year-old was fatally hit by a train while crossing railway tracks at Korukonda village near here last evening, Railway Police Sub-Inspector Khajeswara Rao said.

A case of accidental death has been registered and further probe was on, police added.
