Seven ancient daggers belonging to 18th century Sikh warriors of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's army, which were stolen from a museum in the city, were recovered today by the police.

The stolen weapons were found in gurudwara Ramsar where they were donated by an unknown lady in a wrapped cloth, police said.

The weapons were recovered when priest of the gurudwara had noticed some heavy metal in the wrapped cloth and reported about it to Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

"When SGPC learnt that these are the same daggers stolen from the Museum of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama, they informed the police and handed over the same," police said.

The seven daggers were stolen from the museum last week where they were stolen from display in the museum from the lock and key system of glass box which was broken one night last week.
