A traffic police man was killed and another injured when a speeding car hit the motorbike he was riding as a pillion near Pumpwell in the city today, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar (42) working at the Suratkal police station.
Rider Ashwini Kumar and pillion Bhaskar were plying towards Thokkottu when the car collided with the bike killing the policeman on the spot. Ashwini who suffered injuries was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
Police said the car was moving at a very high speed. The car driver has been arrested.
