Policeman run over by private bus

A policeman died on the spot after being run over by a private bus when he was waiting on the Moga-Kotkapura bypass here today.

The deceased has been identified as Sikander Singh (55), a resident of Panjgrain Kalan village in Moga district. Singh was posted at the Punjab Police headquarters in Chandigarh.

He was run over by a private bus bound for Chandigarh from Abohar.

The bus driver has been arrested and a case registered against him, police said, adding that the body of the victim had been handed over to his relatives.
