A policeman was shot at and injured by suspected militants in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, shortly after Opposition PDP president Mehbooba Mufti addressed an election rally there.
Constable Javid Iqbal was on duty at Kakapora chowk in Pulwama district town, 32 km from here, when he was shot at by unidentified pistol-borne militants this evening, police sources said.
They said the policeman was part of deployment made in connection with the PDP rally and the attack took place shortly after Mehbooba left the venue after her address.

The constable received a bullet injury in the thigh and was shifted to hospital, the sources said.
A hunt has been launched to nab the militants behind the shooting, the sources said.
