The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser unfured the national tricolour at the Sadakat Ashram and took the guard of honour from party workers.
The celebrations were also held at the JD(U) and BJP headquarters where the state presidents Vashistha Narayan Singh and C P Thakur hoisted the national flag and took the guard of honour.
At the RJD office, the state unit president Ramchandra Purve unfurled the tricolour, while the function was also held at the RJD supremo Lalu's Prasad's official residence which was attended by former chief minister Rabri Devi.
The LJP too celebrated the day at its office at Wheeler Road where the party's national general secretary Satyanand Sharma hoisted the national flag.
