Polytechnic student drowned

The body of a 20-year-old polytechnic student was today recovered from the river Subarnarekha at Dahighat in West Midnapore district.

Shyama Prasad Chaterjee, first year student of Keshiarpur polytechnic college, drowned while taking a bath along with three of his friends yesterday, police said.

All the four youths had gone there to hold a picnic.

His body was fished out by divers deployed by police, they said.
