Poppy husk valued at Rs 7 crore seized, one held

A man was arrested and a large consignment of poppy husk worth about Rs seven crore was seized from the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border area here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, the state anti-narcotics cell seized 97 quintals of poppy husk, valued at Rs seven crore in the international market, yesterday while it was being illegally transported in a container truck from Malwa region to Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

The driver of the truck was subsequently arrested, police said, adding that further investigation was on in the case.
