Zinc prices were up by 0.66 per cent to Rs 206.90 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from the domestic spot market on uptick in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May went up by Rs 1.35, or 0.66 per cent to Rs 206.90 per kg in business turnover of 610 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in June was trading higher by a similar margin to Rs 207.20 per kg in 17 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders after an upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the physical market, drove the upside in zinc futures.
