A powerful Improvised Explosive Device, weighing 3 kg, was found today at Torbung village in Manipur's Bishnupur district located on NH 150, connecting Imphal to Mizoram and then leading to Myanmar border.
A senior police officer said here, the improvised explosive device was found by the villagers.
Report from Bishnupur said quoting Army sources that the bomb with a remote control, weighing 3 KG, was planted at a distance of 200 metres from the road and spotted at around 3:30 pm.

After detecting the presence of the IED, all vehicular movements from both directions of the highway, previously known as Tedim road, was halted for a while, the reports said.
Soon after the army bomb experts from Leimakhong arrived and then defused it restoring movement of traffic thereafter.
