Precious idol recovered, Nepalese arrested

A Nepalese citizen was arrested by Shashastra Seema Bal after a precious idol was allegedly recovered from his possession in neighbouring Shravasti district.

Acting on a tip off, SSB officers posted at Suiya outpost arrested Nizam Khan yesterday and a 10.6 kg 'ashtadhatu' statue was recovered from his possession.

The estimated cost of the statue is around Rs 10.6 crore in the international market, according to the SSB.
