PREPAK militant held

A militant belonging to the

outlawed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) organisation was apprehended by a team of Manipur's Imhal East district police on July 20 last near Khurai Popular High school of the Imphal East district, a press release issued by the PRO police today said.

The arrested PREPAK member was identified as Maibam Radheshyam Meitei (31) of Uyumpok Makha Leikai in Manipur's Imphal East district, the release said adding he was involved in extortion from government offices, general public and private firms for raising funds for his organisation.

A case has been registered at Porompat Police station of the Imphal East district for further investigation, the release said.
