The core probables of Indian junior men's hockey team started their preparatory camp for the 2016 FIH Junior World Cup, scheduled to be held in India, at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here.
The camp for the 33 junior core probables started yesterday and will continue till August 18.
Hockey India selection committee shortlisted the 33 probables out of 60 campers in the first preparatory camp held here from April 25 to June 6.

"We at Hockey India are dedicatedly trying to work towards the up-gradation in the quality of hockey in India. Our aim here is to mould the junior men's hockey team in a manner where they are ready to take on their challenges and deliver astonishing results in every match they play in the 2016 Junior Men World Cup," HI secretary general Narinder Batra said in a statement.
"Being the host of the junior World Cup in 2016, we and all the hockey fans of the country would like to see a performance matching up to the World Cup standards and these early preparations will help us reach that goal."
List of 33 core probables:
Goalkeepers: Vikas Dahiya, Subodh Tirkey, Abhinav Kumar Pandey, Jugraj Singh.
Defenders: Abhay Ekka, Jarmanpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Anand Lakra, Sanjit Toppo, Abhishek Pratap Singh, Baljit Singh, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Dipsan Tirkey, Varun Kumar.
Midfielders: Sumit, Simranjeet Singh, Santa Singh, Prakash Barla, Harjeet Singh, S H Nilakanta Sharma, Imran Khan, Manpreet, Rajat Sharma, Ajay Yadav.
Forwards: Parvinder Singh, Armaan Qureshi, Ajit Kumar Pandey, Mohd Nizamuddin, Pawan Kumar, Raushan Kumar, Janma Majhi, Sumit Toppo, Sumit Kumar.
