President Pranab Mukherjee today wished the officers and personnel of Coast Guard on the eve of the 38th anniversary of the force, praising them for responding beyond the call of duty in the face of emerging maritime challenges.
The President, in his message, said "over the years, the Indian Coast Guard has been valiantly serving the nation by ensuring the safety and security of fishermen and mariners as also guarding our long coastline and maritime borders."
"The personnel of the Indian Coast Guard have always risen to the occasion in the face of emerging maritime challenges and responded beyond the call of duty.
"I am sure that the Indian Coast Guard will continue to pursue excellence and discharge its duties with alacrity, dedication and professionalism," he said.
Mukherjee wished them success in all their future endeavours.
