Press Association election: Jaishankar Gupta elected president

A new body of office-bearers and Executive of Press Association has been elected after voting at the Press Club of India where Jaishankar Gupta won the post of the president.

While C K Nayak was elected as its General Secretary, J C Verma was elected as Treasurer, Shishir Soni as Vice President and Anand Mishra as Joint Secretary.

The five members, who were elected in the Executive Committee are Santosh Thakur, Anil Dubey, Srinand Jha, Kay Benedict and Vivek Saxena.

The new committee has a tenure of two years.

Besides, three panels of contestants, some independent candidates also contested the Press Association polls, which recorded almost double the voting witnessed last year, said newly elected president Gupta.
