Prez asks media to maintain objectivity, truthfulness in news

President today said it is important for media to maintain objectivity and truthfulness in news, while lamenting that anti-establishment stance has become a fashion to some extent.

Media has a far reaching impact and influence on people. It must take note of the positive things taking place in day to day life, Mukherjee said while speaking at Essel Group's 90 years celebrations here.

"Although technology always has a disruptive impact but if society is ready to accept challenges, it can utilise it well," Mukherjee said.
