Prez greets nation on Navreh, Gudi Padva

President Pranab Mukherjee today greeted people on 'Navreh' and 'Gudi Padva' festivals tomorrow and wished these ushered in peace and prosperity in the country.

Mukherjee extended warm greetings and good wishes to all citizens on the festivals -- Navreh, Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava and Cheti Chand and Sajibu Cheiraoba - which mark beginning of new year in different parts of the country.

"These festivals heralding the new year in different parts of the country usher in spring - a time of hope and creativity when nature shares its generosity with us. On these joyous occasions, let us resolve to share happiness and joy with others.
 

"May these festivals strengthen the bonds of amity and friendship among our people and foster peace, harmony and prosperity in our country," the President said in his greetings.
