A case has been registered against a school principal for allegedly thrashing a ten-year-old boy, fracturing his hand, police said today.

The boy's parents in a complaint to police said the principal Devika had beaten the boy for playing at noon.

The boy, studying in the sixth standard at the private matriculation school near here, has been admitted to a government hospital, police said.

The parents alleged that the principal had also thrashed him several times earlier and sought action against her.

School authorities were not immediately available for comment.
