The principal of a well-known school on Park street in the metropolis, arrested for allegedly molesting a senior girl student, was today sent to judicial custody till July one.
Fifty-year-old George Bernard Shaw Halder, the principal was arrested yesterday for allegedly molesting a Class XII student of his school in his chamber, police sources said.
The arrest followed a complaint by the parents of the girl with the Shakespeare Sarani police station after their daughter revealed to them what had taken place, the sources said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Halder earlier harassed other girl students, but the victims did not complain for fear of him, the sources said.
"He was produced in court and sent to to judicial custody till July one," Joint CP (Crime), Pallab Kanti Ghosh, said.
