An inmate allegedly committed suicide at the Charlapally jail here, a prisons official said today.
Deepak, about 20, who was in jail since February in connection with a theft case, took the extreme step, the official said.
The prisoner, who attempted suicide using a blanket last night, was taken to the state-run Gandhi hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment, the official added.
