Prisoner commits suicide in jail

A prisoner of Tezpur Central Jail has allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well in the jail premises, prison sources said today.

Lalit Nayak, serving life term since 2005, jumped into the well at around 6.30 PM last evening.

Nayak was a resident of the 4th labour line in Dikorai tea estate of Sonitpur district, the sources said.
