Prisoner escapes from police custody

The incident took place last evening when Netrapal undergoing life imprisonment in a district jail fled from the custody of two constables at Anwarganj station of Kanpur by giving them some substance due to which they fell unconscious, they said.

By the time the constables gained consciousness at Kasganj, Netrapal had fled, they said. Both constables have been suspended and arrested on the directions of Superintendent of Police.
