The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered a high-level probe after a fourth deer died in the district in a span of 10 days.
The move by the Minister of State for Zoos, Shiv Pratap Yadav, follows the death of a deer yesterday, which was receiving medical attention at an Utraula hospital after it was found injured in Ajzagari village, Divisional Forest officer Manish Mittal said.
The carcasses of three other spotted deer were earlier recovered from different parts of the district with officials not ruling out the role of poachers in the matter.
