Prof Swaminathan receives honorary degree from KIIT

Prof M S Swaminathan, father of India's green revolution, has received a Degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) awarded by Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT).

Yesterday, the veteran scientist received the degree here at a special convocation, a press release from the institute said today.

The institute hailed Swaminathan, chairman of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) for his contributions towards helping farmers and tribals in remote villages through scientific research.
