Professor attacked by student for denying admission

A 48-year-old college professor was attacked allegedly by a student and his accomplices for denying admission to him.

Ashok Kumar Nirala, Associate Professor of Hindi Department in Aggarwal College in Ballabgarh, was attacked on July 28, said Principal of the College, K K Gupta.

The assailants threatened to kill him before fleeing from the spot, he said.

The accused student, identified as Mohit Kaushik, has been arrested today.

Kaushik was not allowed to appear in college exam due to short attendance, he said, adding, this year he wanted to take admission in B.Com but was denied by Nirala.

Other assailants could not be identified yet.
 

The professor was admitted to hospital with multiple fractures.

A case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act, SHO, Inspector Jaiprakash said, adding, the accused would be produced in the court tomorrow.
