A social organisation 'Safety Awareness for Everyone (SAFE) and Corporate Safety, Tata Steel, has launched a program on cyber security for school children here.

Launching the program at a function here yesterday, SAFE chairperson Ruchi Narendran, said "We exist in a rapidly developing world today and in such a scenario, while the web world has been a great source of staying connected, it has posed certain challenges before us."

These challenges required awareness and mitigation, Narendran, the wife of Tata Steel Managing Director (India and South East Asia), T V Narendran, said urging teachers to take up the project and pass on the knowledge to students, a Tata Steel press release said here.

Around city-based 40 schools participated in the program. It was a follow-up of an introductory program in April for students and their parents.
