Protest violence:students suffer minor injuries in lathicharge

Some students owing allegiance to Campus Front of India suffered minor injuries today when police lathicharged them after they turned violent while gheraoing a rural police station, protesting against arrest of a college student in connection with a ragging incident.

Amin Rishad, a studentof Srinivas College was arrested yesterday in connection with a ragging incident last month. A case had been registered at Mangaluru rural police station.

Police said they had to use force as the agitators turned violent, inflicting minor injuries on a few of their personnel.

Some students also suffered minor injuries.
