Proud of Asif Kapadia's Oscar win: Siddiqui

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has congratulated Indo-British filmmaker Asif Kapadia for winning the best documentary Oscar for "Amy".

Nawazuddin, who acted alongside Irrfan Khan in a short and silent film "By Pass" (2003) that was produced by Kapadia, took to Twitter to express his happiness over the filmmaker's big win.

"You deserve this totally, proud to be associated with you, way to go. Cheers to your success #Amy #oscars2016 @asifkapadia," the "Badlapur" star wrote.

"Amy" is a poignant examination of singer Amy Winehouse's life and her tragic death at the age of 27.

Winehouse died in 2011 following a battle with drug and alcohol.
