Pressing for expediting long pending doubling and gauge conversion of various railway projects and also to connect by four-lane road major cities and town across Tamil Nadu, Puthiya Tamizhakam will organise a demonstration here on March six.

Accusing both the Centre and state governments of delaying many railway projects including Podanur- Pollchi gauge conversion, Puthiya Tamizhakam president K Krishnasamy said that this 10 year old project was completed from Madurai connecting Dindigul and Palani upto Pollach

However, the conversion works from Pollachi to Podanur in 40-km stretch was pending for last 10 years.

To protest against the neglect of Tamil Nadu, the party has chalked out a six-phase agitation and the first phase would be on March six here, he said.

Similarly, the region was neglected by Highways, he alleged.

He said a meeting of traders, industrialists and public would be convened to discuss various pending projects, affecting their activities.

On the landslide victory of Aam Admi Party in Delhi Assembly polls, Krishnasamy said "this should be an eye opener and also warning bell for the BJP and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi."

The victory has provided a platform for different political parties to come together and fight the BJP, he said.
