Punjab Cong to stage dharna against imposition of recent taxes

A meeting of the party office bearers, district presidents and MLAs was held here during which it was decided that a state-wide dharna will be held on September 7 to protest against the anti-people policies of the Punjab government, a party spokesman said here.

During the meeting, state party chief Amarinder Singh said the government had betrayed the trust of the people and every section of the society was upset with the recent taxation.
