In a goof up, the Local Bodies department of the Punjab government issued transfer orders to an official, who was killed last month in a fire at a plastic manufacturing factory here.

The orders to transfer Chief Sanitary Inspector Laxman Dravid from Pathankot to Jalandhar were issued on November 30.

An official of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation said they received the orders a day before Dravid's memorial service in Ludhiana on December 1.

Dravid was among several persons who were killed after a multi-storey plastic factory building caught fire and collapsed on November 20 in Mushtaq Gunj here.

When contacted, Punjab Local Bodies Director Karnesh Sharma said it was a clerical mistake and the orders had already been revised on December 1.
