The SAD-BJP government is committed towards the overall development of Punjab, state minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said here today.
"Some people with vested interests are unsuccessfully trying to disturb hard-earned peace and communal harmony of the state in a bid to distract attention from the development issues," he added.
After distributing bicycles under 'Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme' to girl students of Government Senior Secondary School at village Kadiana Kalan of the district here, the irrigation minister urged the residents to remain vigilant and make sure peace and communal harmony of the state remains intact.

He said the Punjab government has offered 1.14 lakh new jobs, which would be provided to the youth in a fair and transparent manner.
The minister said that the old age pension has also been doubled from Rs 250 to Rs 500, besides a slew of other development and welfare schemes.
"Within one year, 100 per cent household of the state would have potable water supply and toilet facility," he said.
