Punjab, Haryana continue to face hot, humid weather conditions

Hot and humid conditions continued to prevail in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today with maximum temperatures rising few notches above normal in some parts of both the states.

Union Territory Chandigarh recorded its maximum at 34.6 degree Celsius, one degree above normal, MeT department said.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar,

Karnal and Narnaul recorded their maximum at 33 deg C, 38.2 deg C, 38 deg C and 35 deg C respectively, rising by up to two notches above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana settled at 38.6 deg C and 35.5 deg C respectively, four degrees above normal while Patiala had a high of 34 deg Celsius.
 

The MeT department has predicted light to moderate rain at isolated places in the states in the next 24 hours.
