PWD engineer held in bribery case; Rs 1.69 Cr cash recovered

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have arrested an Executive Engineer of Public Works Department of Panvel division for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 73,000 for doing an official favour.
They later recovered Rs 1.28 crore cash from his residence, an official release said today.
The accused, Buddhesh Rangari, was arrested yesterday for accepting the bribe, following which a raid was conducted at his residence and Rs 1.28 crore were recovered.
Later, the ACB sleuths also recovered Rs 1.50 lakh cash from his office and another Rs 39.50 lakh cash and half kg gold from his bank account, the release said.
