Rahul Gandhi maintains lead in Amethi

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi maintains a lead of 75,104 votes over his nearest rival Smriti Irani of BJP in Amethi.

Gandhi has so far bagged 2,90,967 votes and Smriti Irani 2,15,863.

BSP's Dharmendra Pratap Singh is running on third place, pushing Aam Aadmi Party's Kumar Vishwas to fourth place. Vishwas has so far bagged only 15,763 votes.

Though counting is in the last phase, formal declaration may take some more time.
