Rahul to meet panchayat representatives in Jharkhand

"Rahul Gandhi will meet representatives of the panchayat bodies in Ranchi on September 25 and on the next day he will go to Bokaro to address the youth Congress members," JPCC Chief and Rajya Sabha member Pradeep Kumar Balmachu told the media here.

The AICC General Secretary would take stock of the situation being faced by the representatives of the local bodies, Balmachu said.

Recently the representatives of the panchayat bodies, constituted in Jharkhand nearly two years ago, had held a demonstration to demand devolution of powers.

Balmachu said Rahul Gandhi would also meet Congress leaders from the state and sitting and former legislators during his two-day stay.
