Rain today lashed several places in Punjab and Haryana leading to drop in maximum temperatures in most parts of two states.
Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded maximum temperature of 30 degree Celsius, three notches below normal, the MeT Department report said here.
The city received 11.8 mm of rain.

In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 31.2 degree Celsius, two notches below normal while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum of 32.2 degree Celsius and 31.2 degree Celsius, up to two notches below normal. Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala received 34.8 mm, 0.2 mm and 46.8 mm of rainfall respectively.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 32.1 degree Celsius, while Hisar and Narnaul also recorded maximums of 35.9 degree Celsius and 34 degree Celsius respectively, up to one degree below normal.
Ambala recorded rainfall of 19.5 mm.
In its forecast, MeT department issued warning saying that heavy rain is likely to occur at a few places in the two states over the next two days.
