Moderate to light rainfall brought much needed relief from the sweltering heat raging in some areas of Rajasthan today.
Churu and Kota recorded 4.1 mm and 0.3 mm rainfall. In last 24 hours, Dholpur recorded 70 mm rainfall followed by 60 mm each in Sapau, Sarmathura, Kishangarh and Renwal, 40 mm each in Todaraisingh, Taranagar and Bari. Various other places recorded 10 to 30 mm rainfall, a MeT official said.
With a maximum of 41.2 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer was the hottest, followed by 40.9 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 40.6 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, 40.4 degrees Celsius in Ajmer, 40 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur, 39.9 degrees Celsius in Kota, 39.8 degrees Celsius in Sriganganagar, 38.4 degrees Celsius in Dabok, 38 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, 35.8 degrees Celsius in Pilani and 34.8 degrees Celsius in Churu respectively.
The MeT department has predicted dust storm and thunderstorm with rain at a few places in east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.
