Raj: ACB arrests development officer on graft charges

A panchayat samiti official was arrested today by the Rajasthan Anti Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2500 from a contractor in Bhilwara district.

Ram Gopal Verma, a development officer with the Jahazpur Panchayat Samiti, had demanded the bribe from a contractor to pass a bill of Rs 9 lakh, IG ACB Sachin Mittal said.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught the accused, he said.
