Nearly 16,000 villages in Rajasthan have suffered more than 33 per cent damage to crops for which the state government will submit a representation to the Centre seeking relief for the affected farmers.
"15,820 villages out of total 46,081 villages in Rajasthan have suffered more than 33 per cent damage to crops. The assessment (Girdawari) report was recently prepared and the government in a day or two is submitting representation to the Centre for assistance," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore said.
He, however, did not disclose the amount the government is seeking from the Centre for saying it was being worked out.
