Rajasthan government today announced that it would launch an ambitious cashless Health Insurance scheme to cover over one crore people from December 13 and closing down of Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Law University in Jaipur.
The state government has signed an MoU with New India Insurance on the health insurance scheme, Parliamentary Affairs and Health Minister R S Rathore told a press conference after a cabinet meeting.
Of the one crore beneficiaries, the state government has so far covered 67 per cent by making health card and those having Bhamashah Yojna Card would also benefit with this cashless health insurance, Rathore said.
He said the e-health card of citizens would be made by December 13 when the BJP government would celebrate its second year in power.
The cashless treatment would vary from Rs 30,000 to Rs three lakh subject to pre and post admission in selected hospitals for 1700 diseases, Rathore said, adding the existing scheme of free medicine and diagnostic facilities to patients would continue in all government run hospitals.
The cabinet also decided to close down Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Law University in Jaipur which was opened by previous Congress government in 2012-13, Rathore said.
Except for appointment of vice chancellor U C Shukla in Ambedkar Law University, nothing concrete happened nor any admission was made, he said.
In lieu of this university which is closed now, a Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Peeth as a centre of excellence would be set up in Jaipur in which legal courses would be introduced for education, the minister said.
To improve the financial situation of three power companies from debt burden, the Cabinet decided to set up Rajasthan State Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (company) that would provide funds to existing three companies, he said.
RSVVNGL would be a designated financial vehicle to provide loans to the existing companies in power sector of Rajasthan.
Though there was 30 per cent quota of women in government jobs which included eight per cent for widows and two per cent for separated women, he said, adding now in absence of successful candidate or applicant, the percentage of widows and separated would be inter-changeable.
Furthermore, if no women is available, male candidate would be given opportunity in this category, Rathore said.
