The Rajasthan government today announced a new mineral policy focusing on utilising the unexplored mineral reserves of the state through PPP model.
The draft mineral policy would be uploaded on the Mines and Geology Department's website on December 15, asking for public suggestion and comments, said state Mines and Petroleum Minister Raj Kumar Rinwa at a mining sector event held here today.
The state government has selected seven mineral companies that would seek joint ventures in exploration of rich mineral reserves in the state, the Minister said.

Rinwa said while the country's scientists were successful in exploring the space, little has been done to explore the land's rich mineral resources.
Also speaking at the event, Principal Secretary, Mine and Petroleum, Ashok Singhvi said Rajasthan in second to Jharkhand in mineral wealth and next only to Odhisa in mineral exploration, yet only half of the state's potential has been explored.
