"Rajiv Jyothi" being taken to Sriperumpudur, near Chennai for observing 25th year of martyrdom of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, was received here today.
The jyothi, brought by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary S S Prakasam and INTU leader, was received at the INTUC Campus, Madukkarai on the outskirts, N Nanjappan, Senior Vice President of Tamil Nadu unit of INTUC, said.
It will reach Sriperumpudur on May 21, the day Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by an LTTE suicide bomber.

The Jyothi will pass through Kerala, covering Palakkad, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, before entering Tamil Nadu at Kanyakumari. After traversing Madurai, Puducherry and Chennai, it would reach Rajiv Gandhi Memorial at Sriperumpudur.
TNCC president, E V K S Elangovan will receive the Jyothi at Chennai, Nanjappan said.
