Rajkot will host Santosh Trophy football tournament's league matches for West zone, commencing from January 10.
The matches will be organised jointly by Rajkot Municipal corporation (RMC) and Rajkot District Football Association (RDFA) at Race course football ground, D V Mehta, vice president, RDFA said today.
"Five teams of West Zone - Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Daman-Diu will be playing in the league matches and top two teams will qualify to the next round," he said.

RMC Commissioner Vijay Nehra said that it is a proud moment for Rajkot to host the national tournament.
"I think it is for the first time in Gujarat that such a major tournament of football is being organised. Santosh Trophy is a reputed tournament and we are proud to host the league matches here," Nehra said.
RMC has taken several measures to promote sports activities in the city and the tournament will boost young players of the city, he added.
The tournament will be inaugurated by former Rajkot MLA and now Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala.
