Home Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to address a function to kick off the birth centenary celebrations of spiritual leader Maharishi Mahesh Yogi here on January 12.
To be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the function will also be attended by Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MMYVV) Chancellor Brahmachari Girish among others.
Besides spiritual songs and dances, the event will witness a documentary on Maharishi who was born on January 12, 1918.
Believed to be the founder of transcendental meditation (TM) technique, Maharishi is reported to have trained more than 40,000 TM teachers and taught it to more than five million people.
He also founded a number of teaching centers, school and universities with campuses in several countries, including India, Canada, the US, the UK and Switzerland.
