Raksha Bandhan celebrated with fervour in Telangana

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety across Telangana today.

Shops and other temporary stalls selling 'Rakhis' sprang up all over the city during the last few days and did brisk business.

TRS MP Kavitha, daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, tied a Rakhi to her brother and Telangana IT and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao and gifted him a helmet as part of a 'Sisters4 Change' campaign.

A girl, who was involved in a road accident and received support from Rama Rao, tied a Rakhi to him on the occasion.

BJP's Mahila Morcha president in Telangana Akula Vijaya tied a Rakhi to state BJP president K Laxman and former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya and other leaders.

 

Similarly, the women leaders of Congress tied a Rakhi to state Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
